Ruger Announces Exclusive License for Knives
October 01, 2004
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR), the nation's largest firearms manufacturer, announces an exclusive licensing agreement with W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery to produce and distribute a line of Ruger-brand knives.
"From the earliest settlers to today's trophy hunters and sportsmen, quality American-made firearms and knives have been important tools," said Sturm, Ruger President, Stephen L. Sanetti. "We are proud to be associated with a company like W.R. Case & Sons that shares our philosophy of providing outdoor enthusiasts with top quality American-made products."
Among the knives scheduled for introduction this year is a burnt honey bone-handled Trapper inlayed with a silver Ruger eagle medallion. The knife will be housed in a large tin featuring an image of the famous Ruger "Red Barn" located in Southport, CT. The clip and spey blades of this Trapper knife bear the signatures of the Company's founders, William B. Ruger, Sr. and Alexander Sturm. A collectible Case/Ruger medallion is included as part of the set. Another introductory offer features an eight-knife family of black bone-handled knives bearing a silver Ruger eagle shield inlay. These knives will be individually packaged in string-drawn pouches and housed in specially designed tins.
The exclusive Ruger-brand knives will be available beginning in November 2004. Customers may order the knives from Sturm, Ruger's web site at www.ruger.com, the 2005 Ruger Sportswear and Accessories catalog, or by calling Sturm, Ruger's Logoware Department at 888-220-1173. They will also be available from Case authorized dealers and other firearms and knife retail stores.
