Kevin B. Reid, Sr. named Director of Marketing for Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin B. Reid, Sr. as Director of Marketing.

In his new position, Reid will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day marketing activities at Ruger, including advertising, publications, Internet and the website, distributor and dealer communications, new product launches and sales of logowear and accessories.

"Kevin has been a very valuable member of the management team for several years," said Steve Sanetti, Ruger President. "His knowledge of the Company and product line, his involvement in industry activities and his interests in shooting make him the ideal person for this position."

Reid has served as Sturm, Ruger's Assistant General Counsel since July of 2001. In that role he has been responsible for management of product liability claims and litigation, the Company's self-insurance program, and the Company's stable of intellectual property. He has also contributed significantly to the development of sales & marketing plans and strategies, new product development, and creation of new business policies and procedures.

"Kevin has worked closely with the Marketing Department in the development and review of all marketing materials including catalogs and fliers, all web-based marketing initiatives, print ads, email blasts, fliers, and distributor and retailer materials," said Chris Killoy, Company Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "His experience with our efforts will be invaluable as he takes on his new responsibilities."

Prior to joining Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. Reid was employed by the law firm Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon in Chicago, Illinois. He was a partner of the firm when he left in 2001. Reid is a member of the Illinois and Connecticut Bar, as well as the Product Liability Advisory Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.

Reid received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Washington & Lee University School of Law, Lexington, Virginia. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1980-1984.
