Process Engineer / Quality Emphasis - (Show Details)

Organization:
Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. is seeking a qualified Process Engineer in our Prescott, AZ facility.

Scope of the Position:
Reporting to a Process Engineering Manager, this position has manufacturing process responsibility for the locations current and new products, from raw material to shipping.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Create or modify existing process documentation using 2D and 3D CAD drafting tools (Solid Works). The candidate should have experience with programming CNC machines (Mastercam or equivalent).
• Work with CMM Programmers and product line process engineers to develop CMM programs.
• Work with Design Engineers to make sensible and practical blueprints that match planned manufacturing processes.
• Develop and document quality control plans for new and existing processes.
• Document and maintain product auditing procedures.
• Review CMM operations that are related to manufacturing processes.
• Sustain a CMM preventative maintenance and calibration program.
• Maintain incoming inspection plans for all vendor parts.
• Maintain a digital directory for all metrology details relating to fixtures, gages, and other production hardware.
• Maintain a digital directory for all CMM programs used in manufacturing processes.

Background/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering or the equivalent is necessary. An advanced degree is a plus.
Three to five years of engineering experience, preferably in a firearms manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated skills in 3D/Solid Modeling using SolidWorks, Pro E or a compatible CAD system.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (ANSI Y14.5) is necessary.

Personal Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a high energy, creative, resourceful and organized engineering professional. The ability to multi-task and to manage several projects simultaneously is a must.
The new incumbent must bring strong field type skills. Well-developed communications skills, both verbal and written, are key.

Compensation:
The cash compensation for this position includes a base salary that is commensurate with background and experience, a profit sharing plan and a bonus program that is based on company financial results. We also provide a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.

Design Engineer - (Show Details)

Organization:
Sturm Ruger & Co., Inc. a highly successful, high-end manufacturer of sporting rifles, shotguns and handguns.

Scope of the Position:
Reporting to a Senior Engineer or Operations Manager, this position has product design responsibility for the location's new products, from concept to production.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Provide solutions to product specifications developed using our VOC (Voice of Customer) process. Create or modify existing gun designs using 2D and 3D CAD drafting tools (Solid Works). The candidate should have experience with programming CNC machines (CAMWORKS or equivalent). The projects require developing the design of the assembly, the working mechanisms and the corresponding detail components for the firearm as well as their material selection. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
• The ability to work in a team environment with the various other departments needed to bring a new product to launch.
• Develops the test plans, tests and evaluates functions and performance of product prototypes.
• Develops and executes project plans/schedules.
• Provides technical support to internal and external customers.

Background/Experience:

A skilled machinist that works closely day to day with production and engineering to create fixtures and assembly devices for production use. Will participate in creative design and champion continuous improvement projects.

Required Skills:

Staff Accountant - (Show Details)

We are currently searching for an Accountant for our Mayodan, NC gun manufacturing facility. This position will report to the site Controller. This is a new position and you would be joining a Ruger operation that was started up in September of 2013 with current employment of over 250 associates.

The successful candidate will meet all or some of these qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the Accounting field, preferably in the manufacturing segment
• General knowledge and skills in financial and managerial accounting
• Proven track record of analyzing data, reports, and processes and independently developing opinions
• Ability to identify and efficiently resolve issues
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
• Demonstrated high level of initiative, motivation, integrity and ability to achieve desired results
• Willing to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines
• Extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and organized
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with robust accounting software(s) preferred
• Oracle experience a plus
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook required
• Salary commensurate with proven experience
