Scope of the Position:
Reporting to a reporting to a Senior Engineer or Operations Manager, this position has product design responsibility for the location's new products, from concept to production.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Provide solutions to product specifications developed using our VOC (Voice of Customer) process. Create or modify existing gun designs using 2D and 3D CAD drafting tools (Solid Works). The candidate should have experience with programming CNC machines (CAMWORKS or equivalent). The projects require developing the design of the assembly, the working mechanisms and the corresponding detail components for the firearm as well as their material selection. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
• The ability to work in a team environment with the various other departments needed to bring a new product to launch.
• Develops the test plans, tests and evaluates functions and performance of product prototypes.
• Develops and executes project plans/schedules.
• Provides technical support to internal and external customers.

Background/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent is necessary. An advanced degree is a plus.
A minimum of five to seven years of product design and development engineering experience, preferably in a firearms manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated skills in 3D/Solid Modeling using SolidWorks, Pro E or a compatible CAD system.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (ANSI Y14.5) is necessary.

Personal Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a high energy, creative, resourceful and organized engineering design professional. The ability to multi-task and to manage several projects simultaneously is a must.
The new incumbent must bring strong analytical tools. Well-developed communications skills, both verbal and written, are key.

Compensation:

Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal Product Manager is someone who is knowledgeable and passionate about every aspect of a firearm in their product family; its history, design, construction, and use. It's important that the candidate is an avid user of the products (hunter, competitor, or formal instructor). A solid business background, with relevant experience in engineering, sales, or marketing is needed as well.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the product marketing functions through the entire life cycle of a Ruger product. This includes new products, as well as the legacy firearms, in the product family. The Product Manager works with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure the ongoing success of Ruger products in the current and future firearms marketplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be the subject matter expert, the go-to resource for product knowledge for the Company.
• Be the customer champion! Promote and defend specifications that make a difference to our customers.
• Own the product plan. Drive new products and support improvements in existing products.
• Develop marketing data for new product opportunities through a variety of channels, including formal Voice of the Customer (VOC) surveys.
• Develop specifications for new products. Create marketing themes that connect specifications to features, and features to benefits.
• Promote profitable new platforms with supporting product positioning and branding.
• Accurately represent new products internally to management, customer service and the corporate sales force.
• Passionately promote new products to customers. Assist in the development of advertising and web content, and provide technical resources for published and on-line media, including video and television production.
• Be a willing team member. Support sales, marketing and engineering with whatever is necessary to ensure exciting and well thought-out new products are introduced to customers in a timely manner and achieve great market success.

Background/Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have five to ten years of relevant experience in the firearms industry, or over ten years in a "near neighbor" industry. Microsoft Office and presentation skills are needed. The candidate will be comfortable presenting to large and small groups, at all levels within and outside the organization.
